Sean P. McCarthy

 As President and Founder of SEEK Medical Consulting, LLC Sean McCarthy specializes in helping to expand sales distribution channels for medical device and life sciences companies

Sean brings over 18 years of experience in medical device sales & marketing to the table. Most recently with AtriCure (ATRC) Inc where he helped establish the sales force in the Central region of the US as Director of Sales. Then moving to Director of Strategic Marketing to develop a national referral development initiative for the company’s ablation devices, a role which greatly helped expand the use of the company’s product lines by growing the patient volume around the country. Next as Director of the Strategic Business Unit responsible for the sales and marketing of the MIS platform nationally through C-suite sales initiatives Sean was responsible for the growth of the largest franchise opportunity and the expansion of this portion of the sales force. Prior to this Sean was with Intuitive Surgical (ISRG) when surgical robotics was little more than a curiosity beginning in 2000 as part of the initial sales training group. Over his career at Intuitive Sean went from one of the initial sales trainees on to become Sales Director for the Midwest region to oversee all field sales activities including expansion of the sales force for the Central Region.  During this time Sean helped establish the da Vinci system, robotic surgery & the field sales team in the USA growing to help Intuitive become one of the great success stories in Medical Device during the Decade. Sean’s career in medical device sales began at Johnson & Johnsons Ethicon Endo-Surgery where he was recruited after a successful stint selling copiers for Lanier Worldwide. He holds a BA in education from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY.
